Christmas Party Time
We finished off a fabulous first term and our Christmas celebrations in school, with our Christmas party.
We had fun partying in the hall with Year 1. We then had our yummy party food in class. Mrs Frisby and Miss Clarke set it all out for us so we could all sit together on the same table.
Take a look at our photo's.

Classopoly Reward.
On Friday FS2 got their Classopoly Reward!
The week before we got to have a turn at the game and roll the dice because as a class we had achieved over 97% attendance. When we rolled, we landed on a game of football as our reward. It was great fun! Look at our pictures below;

Diwali Celebrations This Week!
What a fantastic week FS2 have had this week celebrating Diwali; The Festival of Light.
We have learnt the story of Diwali.
In Class we have made Rangoli designs in the dough, we have made cards and lanterns and decorated biscuits.
On Monday Miss Kitchen decorated our hands with Mehndi, using henna to create the designs.
All week we have been painting traditional diya lamps, they came all the way from India!
On Thursday Yashvi's mum came in to celebrate Diwali with us.
She re-told us the story of Diwali and brought some traditional Indian sweets for us to try but our most favourite part of the afternoon was dressing up in the traditional Indian clothes that she brought in for us. We didn't want to take them off! The girls loved the shiny mirrors and sparkly sequins on the skirts. Here are some photo's of us dressing up.
Mrs Cameron enjoyed dressing up too. Here she is with Meika wearing a traditional sari made from pure silk.
We are very grateful to Yashvi's mum for coming in to FS2 to teach us about different aspects of Diwali. She really made the week for us and we got to experience so many new things. Thank you!

Our Autumn Nature Walk
Today we had a lovely afternoon. We went on a Nature Walk through Skelton Woods. We saw lots of interesting things and thought you would like to see some of our photographs from the walk.
We looked at so many things and tried to take as many photographs as possible.
We are very grateful to the mums who came to help us on the walk.
Lots of children spotted the birds nest high in the tree. Jayden explained why the birds build them so high up, 'so no one can take the eggs.'
Mrs Frisby described this tree as being, 'copper coloured.'
Korby reminded us why we shouldn't touch berries, 'These are poisonous!'
We thought of lots of different reasons why a tree might need cutting down into logs.
We saw so many different coloured leaves.
Lots of children wanted to feel the bumpy bark of this tree. We decided it must be very old.
Lots of children had not seen holly before. We were careful not to touch the sharp points.
This tree had leaves of every colour!
Can you see the creature in the tree?
Here he is again! We enjoyed watching him jumping through the trees, but we thought he might be scared of us.
Jake found all the different shapes and colours of the leaves, very interesting.
We walked back to school along the path at the side of the road. We were very sensible crossing the road.

Bonfire Night Celebrations
This week we have been celebrating Bonfire Night during our afternoon sessions. We have talked about the fireworks we have seen and the sounds they made. We have learnt about the history of Bonfire Night and what Guy Fawkes tried to do! Most importantly, we learnt how to stay safe on Bonfire Night. We also had fun making these fantastic firework explosion paintings and added glitter to them, to give them that extra sparkle! Can you find yours?
