Kayne: Kayne has shown real determination to prove himself with positive behaviour and attitude to his learning in class.
Karis: Karis is slowly coming out of her shell and is keen to join in with all the activities in class and share her ideas. She is always fantastically behaved and I can trust her to be doing the right thing

Diwali!!!!

Happy Diwali!!! We will be celebrating Diwali in class this week with lots of fun activities!!

What will we be doing next week? 31stOct-4thNov

Literacy: Be working in our new spaceship role play area. I will be encouraging them to take on the role of the different people such astronaut, controller and time travelling in our real tardis!!

Maths: Be sorting and matching fireworks (not real...pictures) and then counting how many of each type there are, before finding the matching box and numeral. They will be encouraged to think about 1more/1less and adding 2 sets together.

Topic: Be celebrating the festival of diwali, drawing mendhi patterns on our hands, and on the IWB, decorating biscuits, listening to music and learning about the story. We will hopefully taste some traditional food from the festival and make some of our own decoration.

In maths this week we have been making repeating patterns. I'm am very impressed with how fab the children are of making their own patterns and making them more complicated by adding extra colours and shapes!!
